Art & Design · 90-minute classes

Give their creativity somewhere to go.

Three focused art pathways turn “I love drawing” into stronger technique, original ideas and finished work they are excited to show. Students build real fundamentals while creating in the style that motivates them most.

Build the drawing skills that make imagination easier to put on paper.

This is the broadest pathway for students who enjoy drawing but do not want to be limited to one style. Lessons combine approachable fundamentals with cartoons, characters and guided creative challenges.

Draw with more control

Use simple construction, proportion and line choices to make drawings clearer and more consistent.

Create original characters

Develop silhouettes, facial features, clothing, props and personality instead of relying on copied designs.

Make cartoons feel alive

Use expression, gesture, exaggeration and visual storytelling to communicate mood and action.

Finish what they start

Move selected ideas from rough sketch through revision, colour and presentation.

Learn the skills behind the style—not just how to copy the surface.

Students use anime, manga and comics as a motivating context for stronger anatomy, posing, expression, composition and sequential storytelling while developing original work.

Gesture → dynamic posesFaces → emotionPanels → pacingIdeas → original pages

Stylized proportion

Understand how head, body and feature proportions change by style while keeping characters believable and consistent.

Dynamic action

Use gesture, balance, foreshortening concepts and clear silhouettes to make poses more energetic.

Clean visual impact

Practise line weight, inking, value, effects and composition that guide the viewer’s eye.

Comic storytelling

Plan moments, panels and shot choices so a reader can follow action and emotion without over-explaining.

Turn digital tools into an art workflow—not just another screen.

Students learn to use digital drawing tools intentionally while creating illustrations, characters, props and environment concepts. The focus stays on art decisions first, software buttons second.

Digital drawing workflow

Organize layers, refine sketches, make selections and clean up artwork without losing the original idea.

Colour & light

Use value, colour relationships, lighting and texture to create depth and stronger focal points.

Game-art thinking

Design readable characters, props and environments with shape language, function and visual consistency in mind.

Presentation-ready output

Prepare and export finished work at appropriate sizes while learning how to review and improve a final piece.

Before the first class.

Does my child need to be good at drawing already?

No. Students can begin from their current level. The instructor uses the first class to see how independently the student draws, how they respond to demonstrations and what level of challenge is appropriate.

Can we choose between the three art programs?

Yes. Choose the pathway that best matches the student’s current interests. If you are unsure, select “Not sure — please recommend” on the trial form and tell us what they enjoy drawing.

What does the Digital Art class require?

Digital lessons require a suitable drawing device and compatible art software. Exact equipment requirements depend on the class setup, so we confirm what to bring before registration rather than asking families to purchase something unnecessarily.

How does the package pricing work?

Each class is 90 minutes. The current Art & Design packages are 4 classes for C$119, 8 classes for C$219 or 12 classes for C$299, plus HST. The same package prices apply to all three art pathways.

Not sure which art path fits best?

Tell us what your child likes to draw and what tools they already use. We will recommend the most suitable first class.
